About Nevada Patriot Fund

History

The Nevada Patriot Fund was established soon after the United States' engagement in Afghanistan and Iraq in 2003 by a group of private businessmen who wished to create a source of financial assistance for the families of Nevada servicemen killed in the line of duty. They succeeded in obtaining initial contributions from several leading companies and individuals and established the Nevada Patriot Fund as a tax-exempt corporation.

Governor Kenny Guinn soon added the official endorsement of the Nevada Governor's Office with a personal contribution and announcement of support. The Fund has received invaluable assistance as well from such diverse sources as grade school classes, womens' clubs, and motorcycle enthusiasts.

Since its inception, over $400,000 has been distributed to the families of forty-eight deceased Nevada patriots.
